The temple has towers which can be seen from a distance. When you enter the temple you must check from which directions you have entered as accordingly you must go back as all the entrance resemble each other and it is difficult to differentiate. The Srirangam temple is away from Madurai in Trichy but this temple is worth a visit and an important place of pilgrimage.

Sri Meenakshi Temple
Madurai Meenakshi TempleThis temple was designed by Vishwanatha Nayak in 1560 and was built during the range of Tirumalai Nayak. However, the temple history dates back to 2000 years when Madurai was a Pandyan capital. Spread over an area of six hectares, the temple has 12 towers with height varying from 45 to 50 m, the southern tower being the tallest of these. The Temple Art Museum, which is a 1000 pillared preserves frescoes, stone and brass images and one exhibits of Hindu deities.

The museum is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.The temple is largely crowded during the day. 'Temple guides' charge negotiable fees rarely below Rs 200. The steps up lead you to the local emporium.The temple is open between 5 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and 4 p.m. to 9.30 p.m. Entry is permitted at Rs. 10 and Rs. 30 for photography. Film and video are outlawed.

Srirangam Temple - Tiruchy
It is an important place of pilgrimage. It is on a small island formed by the division of the river Cauvery. The Ranganathaswamy temple at Srirangam is noted for its fine architecture and beautiful sculptures. There are seven corridors around this. We can also sees a big hall with thousand pillars, covered by a huge golden dome.
