Being brought up in Bombay it is customary to visit the Titwala Temple of Lord Ganesha. School picnics are often arranged for Vajreshwari and Titwala. Vajreshwari has the hot springs and is a beautiful picnic spot. Both the places are easily accessible by local train as well as bus or car.

In Thane District is a sacred pilgrim spot, Titwala. Titwala is famous for two reasons for its Mahaganesh Mandir and the famous temple of Shri Vithoba. Another fascinating temple is the one at Ambernath, dedicated to Lord Shiva dating backs to the eleventh century and built in the HEMANDPANTHI style. Titwala is 75 km from Mumbai via Kalyan.

Vajreshwari
Vajreshwari, with Hot Springs, a temple to Goddess Vajreshwari and two ashrams of Swami Muktananda and Swami Nityanand, is a health resort and also a spiritual center. The water of the Hot Springs is believed to cure skin diseases.
